The temperature rises gradually towards the inside of the earth as there is no place for air to get in.

As we go underground, things get pounded by the heaviness of everything over(above) and due to gravity.. As it gets crushed we say the weight increases. As a result, pushing every one of the atoms nearer together and expanding the weight makes the particles move with more speed.

Due to the presence of magma in the centre and inward, the temperature of Earth is high as we go further the temperature rises.
