Answer:

0.3 ohms

Explanation:

Given :

  • Ten 3 ohms resistors are connected in parallel

To find :

  • Effective or equivalent resistance

When 2 resistors are connected in parallel, equivalent resistance = 1/R1 + 1/R2

So as ten 3 ohms resistors are connected in parallel :

1/Req = 1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3+1/3

1/Req = 10/3

Req = 3/10

Req = 0.3 ohms

The effective resistance in the circuit is equal to 0.3 ohms

More :

Series = R1+R2

Given:

  • Ten 3 ohm resistors are connected in parallel

To find:

  • Effective resistors

Solution:

We know that

When resistors are connected in parallel

1/Rp = 1/R1 + 1/R2 + ....... + 1/Rn

Here , all resistors have equal resistance so ,

R1 = R2 = R3 = R4 ....... = R10 = 3ohm

Now,

1/Rp = 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3

1/Rp = 10(1/3)

1/Rp = 10/3 ohm

Rp = 3/10

Rp = 0.3 ohm

Hence , effective resistance o the circuit = 0.3 ohm
