He pointed out the both lunar and solar eclipses. Aryabhata stated that the correct number of days in a year were 365. He was the first person to observe that the earth was not flat but in fact spherical. 'Ayrabhatiya' covers several branches of mathematics such as algebra, arithmetic, plane and spherical trigonometry
