and boy be y

x + y = 10. ..... ( i )
• No. of girls is 4 more than boys .
y = x + 4 .... ( ii )
Putting ( ii ) in ( i )
x + y = 10
x + x + 4 = 10
2x = 6
x = 3
No. of boys ( x ) is 3
and girls ( x + 4 ) is 7
