GIVEN :-

  • 10 years ago , A's age was half of B's age.
  • Ratio of their present age is 3:4.

TO FIND :-

  • Sum of there present ages.

SOLUTION :-

Let present ages be A be 3x and B be 4x as ratio is 3:4.

10 years ago , A's age was half of B's age.

A's age before 10 years = 3x-10

B's age before 10 years = 4x-10

But , A's age = (1/2) of B's age

Putting value of their ages

We get ,

→ 3x - 10 = (1/2) (4x-10)

→ 3x - 10 = 2x-5

→ 3x-2x = -5+10

x = 5

Present ages :-

  • A → 3x = 3(5) = 15 years
  • B → 4x = 4(4) = 20 years

Sum of ages of A and B = 15 + 20

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ = 35 years

Hence , sum of present ages of A and B is 35years.
