Let the present age of A and B be x and y .

A.T.Q.

x - 10 = (y-10)/2

2x - 10 = y

It's present age, I think and not Parents age.

3x = 4y ------------(ii)

x = 4y/3

putting value of x in eq.(i)

2×(4y/3) - 10 = y

8y/3 - y = 10

8y - 3y / 3 = 10

5y = 30

y = 30/5

y = 6

x = 4y/3

x = 4×6/3

x = 8

A's age = 8

B's age = 6

Sum of their ages = 8 + 6 = 14
