Answer:

let the present age of A = x

and present age of B = y

ACQ

ten year later

( x+10) = 2 (y + 10 )

x +10 = 2y+20

x -2y = 10 ----------(1)equation

five year ago

( x - 5) = 3 ( y -5 )

x -5 = 3y -15

x - 3y = -10 ----------(2) equation

by eliminating 1 and 2 equation

x -2y - ( x - 3y) = 10 - ( -10)

x -2y - x +3y = 10 + 10

y = 20

on putting the value of y in (1) equation

x -2y = 10

x - 2 * 20 = 10

x - 40 = 10

x =50

so the age of A = 50 and B = 20

hope it helps
