let us say the Amount Tenna is equal to Tenna
let  us say  Reshma  has an amount  Reshma.

Adding both amounts, we get  Tenna + Reshma = 51
taking Tenna to the right hand side, we get  Reshma =  51 - Tenna     ----  1

given that,     1/5 * Tenna =  1/8 * Reshma - 3
now multiply both sides with 40...
     8 * Tenna  =   5 * Reshma - 120
     8 * Tenna =  5 * (51 - Tenna)  - 120           using  --- 1  substitute for Reshma

simplify the above by bringing all terms with Tenna to the left side.

     so 13 * Tenna =  255 - 120 = 135
      So  Tenna has  an amount 135/13  = 10.384 ...

Reshma has  an amount  = 51 - 135/13  = 40.615...

checking the answers again with the given question statement works out right...
