TENSES

They are three types of Tenses : Past , present and future.

Present Tense :

1)Simple Present tense : The simple present tense or Present Indefinite Tense .

• Formula : Subject + Verb1 + S/es with third person singular + compliment
• Example: The sun rises in the east.
• Dogs drinks milk.

2) Present Continuous Tense:

• Subject + am/is/ are+ ing.
• Ex: He is dancing .
• I am playing.

3) Present Perfect Tense :

• S + has/have + Past participle of Verb.
• Example : I have done my work
• She has gone with her mother.

4) Present Perfect Continuous Tense:

• S + has been /have been + Verb + ing.
• I have been waiting for you
• She has been writing notes .

Past Tense

1)Simple Past tense:

• S + Past form of verb.
• Ashok was a great king.
• They were playing in the ground yesterday.

2)Past Continuous Tense:

• S + was/were+ verb + ing.
• It was raining all of yesterday.

3)Past Perfect Tense :

• S + had + verb3
• Mary had prepared the lunch.

4)Past Perfect Continuous Tense:

• S + had been ,+ verb+ ing.
• She had been writing all day

Future Tense:

1) Simple Future Tense :

• S + will / shall + verb1.
• She will pass the exam .
• He will submit his notes.

2)Future Continuous Tense :

• S + will be + verb+ing.
• We will be reaching home on Wednesday.

3)Future Perfect and Future Perfect Continuous Tense :

• s + will have been + verb + ing.
• I will have been working for this company for ten years.
