Terrestrial animals
example birds reptiles excrete uric acid .it is much less toxic it is not soluble in water so it does not require water for its elimination
mammals Terrestrial animals and marine fishes excetra excrete urea hence called as ureotelic the Terrestrial adaptation of Animals is related to the production of lesser toxic nitrogen waste such as urea or uric acid to conserve water
ammoniais basic nitrogenous waste because
1) it is highly soluble in water
2) it is highly toxic to the animal
3) its concentration must be kept very low in blood
4) large volume of water is needed by animals to dissolve and eliminate ammonia

so it needs more water for its removal ammonotelic organisms are mostly aquatic that need more water for removal of NH3

hope it may help u
