heya!!! friend!! :D
here's ur answer :-
by using the phrase "terrible fish" the poet has skillfully presented the pain and agony of a woman ,who has lost her beauty and youth. its just like when a fish is taken out of water it fights violently for life, so also the woman feels terrible as fish as she is losing her beauty and youth and reaching her death .

Heya,
The woman has become terribly ugly with time. Her beauty has drowned in the lake of time. The term reveals the ugly and shrivelled face of an ageing woman. She is so sad to see her waning beauty and lost youthful charm that she feels as if she looks like a fish out of water that looks terrible.
Hope this helps. . . . . if it really helped, then please mark it as the BRAINLIEST and please say a thanks.
Thanks.
