Let age of tuffy be x then Terry will be 2/3x. Then as per given condition  X-2/3x = 4 3x-2x =4*3 X =12 Therefore tuffy is 12years and Terry is 2*12/3= 8years

age of tuffy =x
age of terry = 2/3x
thus,
x - \frac{2}{3} x = 4 \\ \frac{3x - 2x}{3} = 4 \\ \frac{x}{3} = 4 \\ thus \: \: \: x = 4 \times 3 \\ \\ x = 12
age of tuffy.= 12 years
age of terry. = 2/3 × 12
= 8 years
