Given:

Tessa is running 13 km a day during her training for a marathon

No. of days she ran = 3

To find:

No. of meters Tessa run in all

Solution:

In 1 day, Tessa is running a distance of 13 km

∴ In 3 days, Tessa will run = 13 km × 3 = 39 km

We know that ⇔ 1 km = 1000 meters

So, to convert the distance of 39 km, that Tessa ran in all in meters, we have to multiply the distance by 1000

∴ 39 × 1000 = 39000 meters

Thus, Tessa ran 39000 meters in all.
