1) The test cricket is different from other games in the way that it takes more days for its completion. Even after playing five days, the game way remain undecided.
2) Intially test cricket was played as a village game in England. There was no rule for shape and size of the ground. Later, various rules were framed by the MCC. The size and weight of the ball was fixed. Also, it was continued till the sides are bowled out twice.
3) Intially, there were no protective tools for the players. But technology changes have now made this game safe to great extent. Now pads, gloves, helmets are being used.
4) Intially , the game was seasonal and did not offer employment round the year. But now, all round the year game is played and tremendous opportunities of employment are there in this game.

Test cricket is unique because it can go on for five days and still can end with a draw. No other game requires even half of this time to finish. A football match is played for 90 minutes.

Even nine innings of a baseball match gets over less than what it takes to finish a one-day match.
