Test for differentiating acetic acid and methanoic acid

While adding mercuric chloride to both the acids methanoic acid gives white colour precipitate to HgCl2 while acetic acid no visible changes will occur.
Methanoic acid gives silver mirror test while adding Toluene's reagent whereas acetic acid doesn't give this test.
