(a) sum of 1st alternative numbers numbers =5+3=8
sum of 2nd pair of alternative numbers =3+5=8
difference between the the 2 pairs =0
therefore the number 5335 is divisible by 11
(b) sum of first pair of alternative numbers =9+2+8+4=23
sum of second pair of alternative numbers= 0+0+1=1
difference=22
as 22 is divisible by 11 therefore the number 9020814 is divisible by 11
