3^(-4) = 1/81

☆ When there is a minus-power, to a number we make it into a denominator to remove the minus .

So, \:  {3}^{ - 4}  =  \frac{1}{ {3}^{4} }  =   \frac{1}{3 \times 3 \times 3 \times 3}  =  \frac{1}{81}
