Answer:
What are the factors of 3a³+4a-3?
Let f(a) =3a^3 +4a -3,
Given expression can be factored if f(a)=0 can be reduced in lower degree.or f(a) must be factored in a linear factor and a reducible quadric function in a.
Suppose f(a) has a linear factor=(mx-n) where m and n are co- prime.
By rational root test, m must divide coefficient of a^3 =3 and n divide constant term=-3.
n/m =-1 in either case.
So, it may be reduce a factor as a+1 possible case
On dividing f(a) by a+1, we have quotient=3a^2–3a +7 and-10 as a remainder. So it can't be factor with integer coefficient.
Also we have f(-1)=-10.
In this way we have that there is no possible way/s of factor f(a) in lower order.
