$3x + 2 \div x - 6 = 7$

$3x + 2 = 7(x - 6) \\ 3x + 2 = 7x - 42 \\ 3x - 7x = - 42 - 2 \\ - 4x = - 44 \\ x = 11$
hence the value of x is 11
