x-2y=1......(2).

[ multiply by 3 in (2). ].

We get,

3x+y=2......(3).

3x-6y=3......(4).

[ Subtract (3)-(4) ] .

=> 7y = -1.

=>y = -1/7.

[ Keep value in (2) ].

=>x-2×-1/2 =1.

=>x = 1+1.

=>x =2.

Thus:-.

Value of x=2.

Value of y=-1/7.
