Here's the answer

 \bf{4(2y - 3) + 5(3y - 4) = 14}

Opening the brackets..

 \bf{8y - 12 + 15y - 20 = 14}

 \bf{8y + 15y - 12 - 20 = 14}

 \bf{23y - 32 = 14}

 \bf{23y = 14 + 32}

 \bf{ 23y = 46}

 \bf{y = 2}

Thus

The value of y is 2.

Verification :

Putting the value of y in the given Equation,

 \tt{4(2 \times (2) - 3) + 5(3 \times( 2) - 4) = 14}

 \tt{4(4 - 3) + 5(6 - 4) = 14}

 \tt{(4 \times 1) + (5 \times 2) = 14}

 \tt{4 + 10 = 14} \\ \\ \tt{14 = 14}

Thus,
Verified.

Hence

The value of y is 2.
