 {( - 5 - 3)}^{2}  \\  =  { (- 5)}^{2}  +  {( - 3)}^{2}  + 2 \times ( - 5) \times ( - 3) \\  = 25 + 9 + 30 \\  = 64 \\  \\ or {( - 5 - 3)}^{2}  \\  =  {( - 8)}^{2}  = 64
