Let the number be ' x '.

Then,

6 +  \frac{1x}{4} =  \frac{2}{5}

⇒   \frac{1x}{4} =  \frac{2}{5} - 6 =  \frac{2}{5} -  \frac{30}{5} =  \frac{-28}{5}

Now cross multiple, Then,

x =  \frac{-28}{5} \times 4 =  \frac{-112}{5}

Therefore the number is -112/5.
