first correct your problem....there is 9 multiplied with tan^2 @ also...

1 + tan^2@ = sec^2@

=> 1 = sec^2@ - tan^2@

on multiplying both sides by 9

9 = 9 sec^2@ - 9 tan^2 @

Thus answer will be 9
