To solve : (a + b )^{2}

Solution :

  • To solve the above expression we know that it is a form of identity , therefore to derive identity we expand the given expression .
  • As it is given square of expression we write expression as multiplying by it self .
  • (a + b )^{2}

       = (a + b )(a +b)

       = a^{2}+ab+ab +b^{2}  \\= a^{2} +2ab+b^{2}

Hence , expansion is (a + b )^{2} = a^{2} + 2ab+b^{2} .
