EXPLANATION.

Car covers 120km at a uniform speed of 60 km/hr.

Next 60km at a uniform speed of 40km/hr.

As we know that,

Distance = Speed x Time.

Time = Distance/Speed.

⇒ Distance = 120km.

⇒ Speed = 60km/hr.

⇒ T₁ = 120/60.

⇒ T₁ = 2.

⇒ Distance = 60km.

⇒ Speed = 40 km/hr.

⇒ T₂ = 60/40 = 3/2.

⇒ Total time = T₁ + T₂.

⇒ Total time = 2 + 3/2.

⇒ Total time = (4 + 3)/2.

⇒ Total time = 7/2 hours.

⇒ Total time = (7/2) x 60 = 210 min.
