Answer : In its simplest definition given by Former American President Abraham Lincoln , "Democracy is a form of government for the people, by the people and of the people."

To be precise , in this form of government , people elect their leader themselves and present their opinions and take stand in the decision making process. They are not the subjects but the rulers themselves .

In this form of government , people are given basic rights like equality , freedom , etc . Democracy , according to the people , is the best type of government , than monarchy or dictatorship in which people were treated as subjects of the rulers .
