Question :-

  • Find the square root of 0.57

Solution :-

  • Step:1

Change the decimal into fraction

0.57 =  \frac{57}{100}

  • Step :2

Now take square root.

 \sqrt{ \frac{57}{100} }

Now apply the property of radicals in the numerator.

Formula-

 \sqrt{ab}  =   \sqrt{a}  \times  \sqrt{b}

Hence,

 \sqrt{ \frac{57}{100} }  =  \frac{ \sqrt{19}  \times  \sqrt{3} }{ \sqrt{100} }

  • Step :3

Calculate the approximate values of

 \sqrt{19} = 4.36  \:  \:  \: and \:  \:  \:  \sqrt{3}  = 1.73

So,

 \sqrt{ \frac{57}{100} }  =  \frac{4.36 \times 1.73}{10}

 \sqrt{ \frac{57}{100} }  = \frac{7.54}{10}  = 0.75 \:  \:  \:  \: ans
