In CH{ Cl }_{ 3 } , chlorine atoms are attached to the central carbon atoms through a covalent bond therefore, CH{ Cl }_{ 3 } is a covalent molecule. So, these are not dissociated into it’s ions.

Therefore, CH{ Cl }_{ 3 } does not form precipitate while reacting with AgN{ O }_{ 3 }.

KCl is ionic molecule reacts with silver nitrate to form white coloured silver chloride precipitate.

The chemical reaction between KCl and AgN{ O }_{ 3 } is as follows.

KCl\quad +\quad Ag{ NO }_{ 3 }\quad \quad \rightarrow \quad AgCl\quad +\quad K{ NO }_{ 3 }
