Area of Shaded Region= Area of bigger rectangle-Area of smaller rectangle

So,

(i) Area of Bigger rectangle= 28m x 20m

                                            = 560m²

(ii) Area of smaller rectangle= (28-6)m x (20-6)m

                                              = 22m x 14m

                                              = 308m²

[Subtracting the 3m thickness on both dimentions twice because it is present on both sides of the figure]

Therefore, Area of shaded region= 560m²-308m²

                                                       = 252m²
