 \frac{1}{3x + y}  +  \frac{1}{3x - y}  =  \frac{3}{4} and \frac{1}{2(3x + y)}  -  \frac{1}{2(3x - y)}  =  -  \frac{1}{8}

Multiply first equation with 1/2 and add it with second equation we get,

1/(3x+y)=1/4

Similarly we get,

1/(3x-y)=1/2

we get,

3x=4-y,

4-2y=2

y=1,x=1
