now applying the formula

 {(a)}^{2}  -  {(b)}^{2}   = (a + b)(a - b)

 \frac{ {(1)}^{2}  -  { (\sqrt{2}) }^{2} }{( \sqrt{5 +  \sqrt{3)} } }

 \frac{ - 1}{( \sqrt{5 +  \sqrt{3)} } }
