Given fraction:

 \frac{ - 13}{12} + \frac{1}{2}

LCM of 12 and 2=6

 \frac{ - 13 \times 1}{12 \times 1} + \frac{1 \times 6}{2 \times 6}

 \frac{ - 13}{12} + \frac{6}{12}

 \frac{ - 13 + 6}{12}

 \frac{ - 7}{12}

therefore \: \frac{ - 13}{12} + \frac{1}{2} = \frac{ - 7}{12}
