Hey dear friend

17-x/22-x=5/8
By cross multiplication

8(17-x)=5(22-x)
136-8x=110-5x
136-110=8x-5x
26=3x
x=26/3
x=8.6666667 ans.

I think it's :- (17 - x)/(22 - x) = 5/8

if this is the question, then answer is...

==> 8(17 - x) = 5(22 - x)

==> 136 - 8x = 110 - 5x

==> 136 - 110 = -5x + 8x

==> 26 = 3x

==> x = 26/3
