To find : sum of rational numbers \frac{3}{2} + \frac{3}{4}

Solution:

  • To find the sum of given rational numbers we get need to equalize denominators of both the rational numbers. By taking LCM
  • Therefore, LCM  = 4
  • Now, multiplying numerators of both rational numbers by same number as multiplied by denominators to make LCM.
  • Therefore, we get, \frac{3}{2}+\frac{3}{4}=\frac{3 \times 2}{4}+\frac{3 \times 1}{4}

                                                 = \frac{6 + 3}{4}  \\= \frac{9 }{4}

Hence, sum of \frac{3}{2} + \frac{3}{4} is  \frac{9}{4} .
