The given equation is;

=> x/3 + 9/x = 4

Now , taking LCM we get,

=> ( x^2 + 27 )/3x = 4

Now, after cross multiplyication ,we get;

=> x^2 + 27 = 4•(3x)

=> x^2 + 27 = 12x

=> x^2 -12x + 27 = 0

=> x^2 - 9x - 3x + 27 = 0

=> x(x - 9) -3(x - 9) = 0

=> (x - 9)(x - 3) = 0

=> either (x-9)=0 or (x-3)=0

Case(1);

If (x-9) = 0

then , x = 9

Case(2);

If (x-3) = 0

then, x = 3

Thus, the required values of x are;

3 and 9.
