▶ Suggestion :-

→ Try to write question with appropriate data and with correct spelling .

▶ Question :-

→ Two plots of land have the same perimeter. One is a square of side 40m. While the other is a rectangle of breadth 25m . which plots is larger area and by how much.

▶ Answer :-

→ Square plot has larger area by 225 m² .

▶ Step - by - step explanation:-

➡ Given :-

→ Perimeter of square plot = Perimeter of rectangle plot .

→ Side of square plot = 40 m.

→ Breadth of rectangle plot = 25 m.

➡ To find :-

→ Which plot is larger and by how much .

We have ,

→ Perimeter of square plot = Perimeter of rectangle plot.

==> 4 × side = 2( l + b ) .

==> 4 × 40 = 2( l + 25 ) .

==> 160 = 2l + 50 .

==> 160 - 50 = 2l .

==> 2l = 110 .

==> l = 110/2 .

•°• l = 55 m.

→ Area of square = ( side ) ² .

= (40)² .

= 1600 m² .

→ Area of rectangle = l × b .

= 55 × 25 .

= 1375 m² .

✔✔ Hence, the square plot has larger area by [ 1600 - 1375 ] 225 m² ✅✅.

Answer :

1) In attachment

2) Given :

  • Length = 20 m
  • Breadth = 10 m
  • Width = 2 m

Solution :

Length of Garden = 20 + 2 + 2

= 24 m

Breadth of Garden = 10 + 2 + 2

= 14 m

Area of Garden = Area of outer path - Area of inner path

= (24 x 14) - (20 x 10)

= 136 m²

Cost of Path = 136 x 10

= Rs. 1360

Hence, the total cost of Path is Rs. 1360.

3) Given :

• Lenght = 60 m.

• Breadth = 40 m.

• Width = 2 m.

Area of garden = l × b

= 60 × 40

= 2400 m².

Area of 1st path = 60 × 2

= 120 m².

Area of 2nd path = 40 × 2

= 80 m².

Together, 1st path + 2nd path.

= 120 + 80

= 200 m².

Area of middle,

= 2 × 2

= 4 m.

Now,

Area of remaining,

= 2400 - 196

= 2204 m².

Hence, the remaining area is 2204 m².

Different Formula's for Rectangle & Square

  • Perimeter of Square : 4 x a
  • Area of Square : a x a
  • Perimeter of Rectangle :

(2 x l) + (2 x b)

  • Area of Rectangle : l x b
