Hi there!
Here's the answer:

•°•°•°•°•°<><><<><>><><>°•°•°•°•°

2x - 2y = 3 --------(1)
5x + 8y = 14 --------(2)

Do 5 × (1)
=> 10x - 10y = 15 --------(3)

Do 2 × (5)
=> 10x + 16y = 28 ---------(4)

Do (4) - (3) :

••• 10x + 16y = 28
••• 10x - 10y = 15
-----------------------------
……(-)……(-)……(-)

=> 26y = 13
=> y = -1/2

From (2)
5x + 8y = 14
Substitute y
=> 5x = 1 4- 8(1/2)
=> 5x = 14-4
=> 5x = 10
=> x = 2

The required solutions are :
x = 2 & y = -1/2
