Step-by-step explanation:

5/x-1 +1/y-2 = 2

6/x-1 - 3/y-2 = 1

Let 1/x -1 be p and 1/y-2 be q

5p +q = 2 ____ eq 1

6p -3q = 1. _____ eq 2

On multiple eq 1 by 3 we get , 15p +3q = 6

On Solving eq we get 21q = 7

q = 7/21 = 1/3

on putting the value of q in eq 2

6p -3(1/3) = 1

6p = 2

p = 1/3

Here , 1/x -1 = p

1/x-1 = 1/3

x -1 = 3

x = 4

Here, 1/y-2 = q

1/y -2 = 1/3

y-2 = 3

y =5
