=9x+100/10 =x+8

=⇒9x+100=10x+80

=x=20

New average, =xˉ=20+8=28

FORMULA USED

  • Average Run = Total Run/ No. of Days

SOLUTION

  • Let the avg. after 9 innings be x.
  • x = Runs scored in 9 innings / 9
  • Runs scored in 9 innings = 9x

NOW Given that,

  • When he scored 64 runs in 10th match, his average score increased by 2.

x + 2 = (9x+64)/10

Therefore

  • (9x + 64)/10 = x + 2
  • 9x + 64 = 10x + 20
  • x = 44

Total runs he score in 10 matches

  • 9x + 64
  • 9*44 + 64
  • 460 runs
