To make chemical equations more informative , we mention :-

★ We mention the physical state of reactant and product.

  • (g) for gas.
  • (s) for solid.
  • (l) for liquid.
  • (aq) for aqueous solution.

★ Up(↑) arrow for evolution of gas and down(↓) arrow for precipitation.

Example :-

➔ AgNO₃(aq) + KCl(aq) → AgCl↓ + KNO₃(aq)

➔ 2H₂(g) + O₂(g) → 2H₂O(l)
