Today I, Cat, stand before you in the school's morning assembly to speak to you on the harmful effects of the use of drugs and tobacco. You have seen yourself how our school senior student died in a road accident recently. He was a drug addict. Under the $intoxication$ of the drug he could not cross the road as he could. You'll agree with me that the use of the drugs like opium, marijuana, LSD or other drugs means inviting one's self- destruction and slow death . Both the drugs and tobacco lead to death in the end.

Tobacco has nicotine which is a slow poison .It causes fatal diseases like cancer of the lungs, stomach and wind pipe. You may have seen the pictures of the smokers having mouth cancer. I would say that it is the ugliest kind of death, which is self- inviting.

Drugs are more horrible. They just eat up the inside of the human body. It after a certain stage, he undergoes agonising pain and severest kinds of bodyaches. Only drugs can give them some relief. So the drug- user try their level best to get them. They sell even their most valuable things for getting those shots.

I would , therefore, urge you to avoid these deadly killers. A puff for the fun taken by young and unwary students results in such horrible deaths. We must love life and live it fully .
