An optical prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. At least one surface must be angled—elements with two parallel surfaces are not prisms

◕ Qᥙᥱstioᥒ :- What is a prism?

◕ Aᥒsᥕᥱr :- A prism is a clear, triangular device made from plastic or glass. It is a three-dimensional shape formed with same shapes dealing with every other. These shapes are referred to as “bases”. The bases may be a triangle, square, rectangle or another polygon. Other faces of a prism are parallelograms or rectangles. When white mild light is going thru a prism, the mild bends because of the phenomenon referred to as refraction. Refraction is the technique of bending mild as mild is going from one medium (like air) to any other medium (like water or glass).
