Dear Diary,
I am angry, stressed and very sad because of what I saw today. I was standing near a cafe, waiting for my sister, when I overheard 2 men discussing something. I don't like eavesdroppping but what they said really caught my attention. They both looked well dressed and their behaviour showed that they were well-educated too but soon I got to know that their education was of no use because their thoughts were horrible and saddening. From what I heard I got to know that their friend's wife had given birth to a girl child. One of them was feeling really sad for them saying that how unfortunate must it be them as it is like a curse to have a girl child. Shocked from what I heard I couldn't believe that these educated people could even say something like this. There is absolutey nothing bad or unfortunate in the birth of a girl child.
Even in the 21st century, educated people being sad at a birth of a girl is shameful. I hope that people begin to treat both genders equally because a girl child is a blessing bot a curse.
