Using distributive property multiply numerator

and denominator

(20-4x+5x-x^{2})/(14-2x+7x-x^{2})=1

20+x-x^{2}/14+5x-x^{2}=1

20+x-x^{2}=14+5x-x^{2}

X² gets canceled

Shift 14 to lhs and x to rhs

6=4x

X=6/4

X=3/2=1.5
