They can be convinced . By giving them a deep explanation and importance of independence . This situation is best described through a story .

Once upon a time their lived a teacher and a old person . They both were close friends . They had grown plants in their garden . The teacher took a lot of care about his plants . Always watered them more than required and nurished them with care . His plants appeared very green and fuller . While the old man gave very little water to his plants. They looked fine . Then one day a very strong storm came . When it was over both of them came out to see their plants .

They were shocked to see that , the old man's plants were standing still while the teachers plants had been uprooted . Then the confused teacher asked the old man , ' I gave more water and care then you did , Then how my plants got uprooted and yours are standing still . He smiled and replied , ' I gave them sufficient water and let them search for their need . Therefore their roots went deep and deep . So the storm couldn't harm them . You provided them everything they were dependent on you so even a small wind could do a lot harm to them .

The teacher learned a very important lesson of making plants ( children ) independent .

This story gives us a good explanation about why should we be independent and not depend on others for our needs and requirements .

We can explain them that if their children won't be allowed to do so, then there are more chances will choose the wrong path and become a bad person or maybe they can be more alone and isolated, they'll feel abnormal and depressed.
