The attached format of the formal letter / application to the principal is right . However , some minor mistakes are there which are written in highlights at the end of the answer.

To pe precise , You can write it as

Sender's address

(using maximum 3 lines)

Date ( 12 June , '20)

Receiver's designation and address

(using maximum 4 lines)

Subject: (try to be as clear as possible)

Salutation (Sir/Ma'am)

Body (3 paragraphs)

Paragraph 1 : introduction

Paragraph 2: Details

Paragraph 3: Solution / conclusion/ suggestions

Yours faithfully/sincerely

Sender's name

Highlights :

According to new format , the commas after address and salutations are removed.

Never write date in the format DD/MM/YYYY i.e. in the month , you should always write the name rather than in numerals .

Use your name rather than signature , until you are an official .
