police will catch the thief if distance travel by policein time t=1250m.+25t m.
using s=ut+1/2 at^2
u=0,a=2m.s^2
(1/2)*2 t^2=1250+25t
t^2-25t-1250=0
(t+25)(t-50)=0
so t=50 sec.
