✰Question ✰

❍ An artificial satellite is moving in a circular orbit of radius 4200 km. What is its speed if it takes 24 hours to revolve around the earth?

_______________________________

✰Given :-

⋄ Radius of circular orbit (r) = 4200km

⋄ Time taken (t) =24 hour

_______________________________

To Find :-

⋄Speed of satellite .

_______________________________

✰Solution :-

➧ Distance(s) covered by satellite in 24 hour.

➧ s=2πr where r is the radius of circular orbit.

➧ s= 2×3.14× 4200

➧ s=26376km/h

Now, we know that

⋄Speed= Distance travelled /time taken

➧ Speed=26376/24

➧ Speed= 1099km/h.

∴The speed of satellite to revolve around the earth is 1099km/h.

GIVEN

An artificial satellite is moving in a circular orbit of radius 4200 km.

◙ Radius, r = 4200 km

◙ Time taken, t = 24 hours

TO FIND

The speed of the satellite.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

We know, distance travelled is the product of the speed and the time taken.

\boxed{\sf{\dag\ Distance=Speed \times Time}}

\underline{\rule{200}4}

SOLUTION

♣ Distance travelled = Perimeter of the circular orbit.

⇒Distance = 2πr

Taking π as 22//7,

\sf{\implies Distance =2 \times \dfrac{22}{7}\times 4200 }\\\\\sf{\implies Distance =44\times 600}\\\\\boxed{\sf{\implies Distance =26400\ km}}

♣ Time = 24 hours

Now,

\sf{Speed=\dfrac{Distance}{Time} }\\\\\sf{\implies Speed=\dfrac{26400}{24} }\\\\\large\underline{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{\implies Speed=1100\ km/h}}}}
