\textbf{\underline{Production of energy during photosynthesis}}

Light energy is being converted to chemical energy in the form of ATP which provides energy to the cells of the plants for performing their vital metabolic life processes .

EXPLANATION :

This conversion takes place in the presence of chlorophyll and carbon dioxide and water are required for the process .

Oxygen is released as the bye product along with plant food in the form of carbohydrates .

The gases like oxygen , carbon dioxide diffuse in through the stomata . The turgidity of the guard cells lead to the opening of stomata .

Stomata are minute openings which are present in the epidermis of the leaves and through this minute openings , diffusion of gas takes place .

Diffusion is the process by which gases in contact are transported from region of higher to lower concentration .

As the plant undergoes photosynthesis , the ATP molecules are produced which leads to active transportation of the potassium ions .

The osmosis takes place due to more potassium ions inside the guard cell and hence stomata opens as a result of turgidity caused in the guard cells . This leads to entry of gases which are the reactants in the chemical process of photosynthesis .

The plant cells absorb photons and produce the energy by conversion of NADP . Then photo-phosphorylation takes place leading to production of ATP . Thus light energy is converted and stored in plants in the form of chemical energy for their benefits .

 \bold{Photosynthesis}

It is the process by which occurs in chloroplast in which plant cells makes their own food in presence of chlorophyll ,sunlight ,water and catbondioxide with glucose, water and oxygen as product besides there is also production of energy.All this occurs during the light independent phase of photosynthesis.

 \bold{Light \: independent \: phase}

▶Water is absorbed by the roots from the soil by the processes of imbibition and osmosis .

▶Carbon dioxide is taken in by the stomata.

▶The sunlight is absorbed by the chlorophyll present in thylakoids. few

▶The photons (basic unit of light) of sunlight gets absorbed by chlorophyll and activates the chlorophyll .

▶The photons then converts the water molecules into hydrogen ions and oxygen by the process of photolysis.

▶The hydrogen ions are utilised in converting NADP(Nicotineamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate) to NADPH.

▶Oxygen formed as product of photolysis, gets released.

▶The ADP (Adenosine diphosphate) with the electrind gets converted into energy molecule ATP(Adenosine triphosphate) by addition of inorganic compound phosphate by the process of photophosphorylation.
